Rented La (Shift 4D) Sportiva size 10.5 from Sports Basement for weekend for $44.10.
worked really well, feet kept dry and would purchase or rent with crampons

- used 18L pack should pick a larger one with easier access or more straps on the outside for crampons/ice axe
- Need to be able to attached detach quickly

- bring 2 pairs one for hot one for cold

- too many nuts and was too dry
- boiled egg would have been good
- should have brought electrolites

Reflections
It’s been almost a week since the hike and while I was refreshed and full of energy while in Shasta I became drained when coming home. Drained because of the emotional stripping but also focused and calm. I believe not drinking is helping with that and I’m glad
